MudRoom

This is the room you walk into from the garage. Everyone has a space designated for them but no one seems to care. The schedule and organization stuff is hung on the wall.

These pictures were taken from the door of the laundry room.

Saying Goodbye

It is silly but I see my garden out in front of our Steep Hollow House saying goodbye. Everything Pearl and I have planted is blooming for me. My spider lillies, my bleeding hearts, my wild hybiscus and even a rose bush my kids gave me for mother's day one year are displaying color. David had set up a sprinkler system in the garden with a timer so it wouldn't die when we went out of town. Only a week left before we have to be of here. I don't have time to dig up anything and take it with me but I am sure I can find very special things for the new house too.

Third week in July

Okay... I caused the delay. Because of some of the specific details on the cabniets, etc, it took me a couple extra weeks to approve the plans. So that caused a delay.

My builder is wonderful and did his best but he has little to no control over me(as he sadly has learned) and I caused a two week delay. So it looks like we are moving in the third week in July.

Lets review...
Third week in July:
July 13 -19th
Things Going On:
1) My 40th Birthday
2) Move
3) John playing Allstars
looks like a good week to move.

Here is my problem:
That only gives me a week and 2 days to move into the house if I want to go to Kamp with the kids this year.
I was going to do Zachary and Nicole's Room up.
So I have several scenarios.
1) Z&N spend the first week and 2 days out on a cot in the living room while I try and Unpack and DO their rooms
2) Send everyone to Kamp and stay behind for 3 or 4 days to DO their rooms
3) Send out the bat signal & see if anyone can help us unpack in the new house.

Doors, Drawers and Floors

Oh my goodness~ We have made incredible progress on the house. Bricks almost all done, my front door is in, the trim guys have installed the balasters on my back porch and on my stairs. The cabinets will be all done by Monday night and I will get the garage doors in next week. So all that will be left is the paint, the floors and the fixtures. I am so excited. It is all coming together so well. I would post pictures but it is hard to show the detail that is getting done. There are a couple hickups but nothing major ~ my pantry door is MIA. I cant wait. I am out there almost every day ..// Call me if you want a tour OR you can wait till it is finished and come over for dinner sometime.

Back Door with Brick and Rock

The guys are working 6 days a week to get me in my house. My back door was delivered today (still awaiting my front door - gone MIA) and the brick and rock is really coming along. The outside may be done by the middle of next week.

Sheet, Rock Bricks, and Grading

The guys rock and rolled while I was gone. My whole house is sheet rocked, taped and floated. They will be texturing and done by Tuesday which is when the trim guy starts. Wednesday the cabinets start in.

My Brick/Rock guys started.... My builder "loves" the combination of brick and rock I picked.

I had to make a decision about the garage doors. Now one would think that this would be like "Yea... I want a garage door that goes up and down" but the options... Do you want glass? What kind of glass? You want long panels or short? do you want carriage hinges or blank? Would you like it insulated or not? Do you want vinyl, aluminum, wood, steel, fiberglass, or rubberduckie? Do you want paintable or a color? How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if ...? I mean forever with the questions.

I met with hope lumber today to decide of stairs, railings and trim. Then I will meet with the actual trim guy tuesday - Hopefully that is easier than the garage doors?

We are a couple weeks ahead of schedule. That means I may only have 6 weeks to pack.
